Fall Style Diary: Purple Passion

If you’ve been following my recent posts, you’d know that I’ve been battling a cold for the past week or so, and after a couple of days of not bothering to put on any makeup, I finally got back into the swing of things and wore something other than sweats. Due to my makeup-deprivation, I had the overriding need to play with makeup this morning, and by play I mean I went purple. Purple is probably my favorite color, and I took the opportunity to break out my limited edition Maybelline Great Lash mascara in Vision in Violet. I’ve had two other tubes of Great Lash, and when they changed to a smaller wand, I didn’t care for it as much, but I do like that this mascara provides decent purple pigmentation. My Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Defineer in Ripe Plum (27) by Rimmel has been a favorite since I first gave it a go. It didn’t sit well in my lower waterline, but hit enough of my lower lashline that it defined the area. DSC02625

I also helped to bright up the eye by using my dear Amber Lights eyeshadow by MAC on the center of my eyelid,. To compliment its beautiful gilmmer, I used my e.l.f. Golden Bronzer as a gold highlight on the high points of my face, because after a week of being sick I needed a lil’ something extra to breathe life back into my face.

The lovely slight flush of color on my cheeks is the MaxFactor Creme Puff Blush in Nude Mauve (10) . I’ve been dying to get my hands on one of these blushes for ages now and decided upon this one since it’s different from any other blush in my makeup stash. I LOVE IT. On my lips I went for the orangey-brown nude Innoccentfrom Esteé Lauder‘s Pure Color Envy Shine lipstick line. This formula is super forgiving of my terribly dried up lips (I’ve become a mouth-breather this week, it’s horrendous).DSC02617  DSC02622

It’s been considerably warm today, but since I’m still getting over this cold I’m not taking any chances with clothes. I opted for a thick grey sweater from Forever 21 that’s slightly cropped. It’s got a fairly high neckline, but I added a wine-red scarf from Lindex, which is a never-fail Fall accessory for me. I paired my black boots with my high-waisted grey marble skinny jeans from Vero Moda, and to top it all off, sported a statement marble black and gold ring from Gina Tricot (J’adore, mes amies, j’adore).

What color(s) do you love to play with?
