I’ve skipped out on doing favorites posts for the past few months since I did a “Summer Favorites Roundup”, but I am back on the bandwagon for September, where I fell in love with both new and used products in my stash, not to mention some fashion and fragrance bits. So, dear readers, let’s get down to business:
e.l.f. Golden Bronzer
I won’t go into too much detail on this product here since I did a post featuring it here, but since I’ve been going for some warmer looks and am still loving highlighting and dewy skin, this drugstore gem has been a must in my makeup routine.
Maybelline The Rocket mascara (waterproof)
I was looking for a new mascara to try this summer and picked this up after my mom’s recommendation, but only started using it this month, and while I love the formula and end result, I can’t stand the wand. It stabs me in my tight-line, like, every stroke.
Rimmel Exaggerate waterproof eyeliner (plum)
I wish I had known how great these eyeliners were when I bough this one, because I would have bought one in every color! But, I am so glad I got Plum, as a pop of purple helps to spice up my look. I love the formula of this and the color is just right. I did a look featuring it that I adore.
Garnier BB Eye Miracle Perfector
I heard a beauty vlogger comparing this product to the Bobbi Brown Corrector, but in roller-ball form and was immediately sold. I didn’t find it to be anything special when I first tried it out, but this month that cooling ball tip has been my saving grace in the mornings. my under eyes have been dark and puffy and the salmony tint has been helping to provide some coverage as well.
Estee Lauder Pure Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Innocent
I did an entire review of these lipsticks here, but this month I was bouncing between barely-there nude makeup and full on smokey-eye autumn grunge. This peachy-brown nude has been a delight for me, since it’s rather subtle but warming. Not to mention that the formula has been very forgiving as the air is getting colder and drier.
Max Factor Creme Puff blush (Nude Mauve)
I have been so satisfied with this blush, since it’s another barely there blush but still has helped to breathe life back into my skin after my sick episode earlier this month. It’s a great color and I really hope to pick more of these up soon.
Two Faced Milk Chocolate and Chocolate Soleil bronzers
When I reviewed and swatched the bronzers in my Two Faced Little Black Book of Bronzers, I didn’t think Milk Chocolate Soleil would suit me, but together with the Chocolate, I have a pretty great bronzing/contouring routine. You can read my full impressions on these bronzers here.
Bare Minerals Original Mineral Foundation
I got a travel-size of this foundation back in the spring, and immediately was in love with it. It is my first high-end foundation and I have declared it to be my lazy-foundation, since it’s not a BB, CC cream or tinted moisturizer, but it doesn’t take a lot of time to apply, and a little goes a long way. My skin has been really well-behaved this month, so I haven’t needed a ton of coverage, and luckily this was when I wasn’t making the greatest of attempts with my makeup (since I was for the first time in my life hitting the snooze button). I will be posting a full review of this foundation tomorrow, so stay tuned for that!
Now onto the other bits:
Tokyo Jane black leather and gold bracelet/necklace
I have had this piece for a good 4 years now, but I have been wearing it as a bracelet, necklace, and choker this month, since it’s simple but the leather and little dogtag add a bit of edge.
Black and Gold Statement ring (Gina Tricot)
I’ve gotten a number of compliments on this ring, and I am so in love with it. It really packs a punch into any outfit, but still looks kinda classy at the same time.
Angel by Terry Mulliger
I only have the sample of this perfume but I already know I’ll be purchasing it when winter rolls around. It’s spicy but also slightly floral and fresh, though I have enjoyed testing it out this month.
Awakening by China Glaze and Wine Bar by NYC
Both are great autumnal colors, and of rather similar shades, which is why I’m featuring them both. Awakening, I’ve described previously as “plumy-pink but [with] a gorgeous rose-gold sheen that catches [the light]”, and Wine Bar is a beautiful berry fuchsia that I also can’t stop staring at when I have it on. New Autumn go-tos for nails!
This is actually my mom’s, but she let me use it on my Asia trip, and allowed me to take it to school with me, and it has been so handy to have. It’s sleek and classy, but trendy and cool, plus minimal. I usually would hate something sporting a heart, but I like the touch of it in silver. There are plenty of compartments and is compact, but can still fit a good deal of stuff.
That’s all for my beauty and fashion related favorites for the month of September!
What have you been enjoying this month?
