With about seven and a half weeks until Christmas, and even fewer to Hanukkah, the hunt for presents for yourself and for your loved ones is soon to be underway (if not already). Plenty of beauty brands know how to rope us into their purchases during the holiday season with value sets, but with so many to chose from, which are really worth buying? In the spirit of the holidays I’m showing you the 12 holiday beauty value sets and palettes available at Sephora really worth spending the moolah so you and/or your fellow beauty-lover (or beginner) can have a lovely gift.
Origins is one of the most well-known skincare brands sold at Sephora, especially known for it’s fast results a relatively good price. This set contains deluxe samples of Origins bestselling products such as the GinZeng Refreshing Eye Cream(o.5 oz), Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask To Clear Pores(o.5 oz), Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash(1 oz). This means you get plenty of products to try if you want to explore the brand, or want to treat yourself to new skincare, given that most of these products, even as deluxe samples will last you a while. This set is only $42 USD when it has a $100 value, meaning you’re paying $7 for each piece!
Hourglass is one of the priciest makeup brands on the market and their Ambient Lighting products have a cult following. Previously they’ve released palettes consisting of three different powders, one with their Blushes and another with their various face powders. Hype has also sparked up around the Ambient Lighting Bronzer released earlier this Fall. In this set, you can get two of their Ambient Lighting Powders in Dim Light and Diffused Light (full-sized sold at $22USD) , the Ambient Strobing Powder in Iridescent Strobe (which is all the rage, as you may have heard), two Ambient Lighting Blushes in Luminous Flush and Mood Expsosure, $35USD full-sized), and the Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze (full-sized at $50USD). For $80 USD you can get six powders, which is a pretty darn great deal considering these powders are great for everyday use and since you only need the tiniest bit of product, this bad boy will last long in your collection. Not to mention that with the assortment of powders, this palette is great for traveling with, despite being ever-so finely milled).
Too-Faced do some of the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen, and even though the packaging for this limited editon set hadn’t blown me away, the cuteness of these deluxe samples has. This set contains three Melted Lipsticks and a Love Flush Long Lasting 16 Hour Blush in each respective color- adorable. What’s great about this set is the variation in colors. There’s a purple-y mauve pair (Fig and Your Love is King), a peachy-nude pair (Nude and Love Hangover), and a pink pair (Peony and Justify my Love. Both of these products are know to be super pigmented and long-lasting, so for $36USD, I think this set is definitely worth it (that’s $6 a pop!!!).
Would this really be a beauty gift set list with only one Too Faced palette??? Le Grand Palais sure is grand, I tell ya. I comes in an adorable pop-up set, complete with 18 eyeshadows, two blushes, one highlighter, one bronzer (in Sun Bunny, my fav!), and deluxe samples of the Better Than Sex mascara, Melted Lipstick in Peony, and Shadow Insurance Eye Primer. All of these products are some of the brand’s most well-loved, and to get them for only $58 USD is a deal you just can’t miss (not to mention the packaging features the Eiffel Tower in the background *swoon*).
The Amazonian Clay blushes are a cult favorite and perhaps Tarte‘s most coveted product. This chic palette offers five full-sized blushes in both favorited and exclusive shades for just $44 USD, which is less than $10 a shade- amazing since it will take you all of eternity to get through one blush and retail for $28 USD each, normally! Not to mention each shade is super wearable and will suit all skin tones, since their colors are not too wild, but nonetheless pigmented and long lasting. These wearable shades are varied in color as well: Fetching (rose), Dollface (cool light pink), Prim (plum nude), Smashing (coral pink), and Beaming (apricot pink).
Everyone is always after a dupe for the makeup applicator sponge know as the beuatyblender, but it seems like nothing compares to the original. Too bad it’s $20USD for the original sponge. A sponge. This set, for just $40 USD gives you one full-sized original beautyblender, one full-sized beautyblender Pro, one beautyblender Micro-Mini, and a mini Reactive hydrator and makeup refinishing spray.
Sephora has done sets like this in the past, but usually with more perfumes, but only sample-sized vials. This set offers some of Sephora‘s best selling perfumes in travel-sized bottles that are even cuter than their full-sized bottles. But the best part is that inside contains a Scent Certificate which you can bring into Sephora when you’re done with your favorite scent from the set and get a full-sized bottle in exchange! This is an ideal Christmas gift for a teenager who’s just getting in perfumes and is trying to find one that suits them best. This set has scents from every corner of the sense such as Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black and Nirvana White (which can also be worn together), Escada Joyful Eau de Parfum, and others. For $58 USD, you’re getting not only 7 travel-sized perfumes, but a Scent Certificate which can be exchanged for a 1 oz. bottle of your favorite from the scent!
Benefit released a similar palette last year, and man was it a hit. This year, the palette contains deluxe samples of the Hoola Bronzer, their boxed blushes in Dandelion, Coralista, Rockateur, and Sugarbomb, the Watt’s Up cream-to-powder highlighter, as well as deluxe samples of their ever-so-popular They’re Real! mascara and They’re Real! Push-up Liner. Each full-sized powder retails at $28USD, as well as the highlighter and the mascara and liner at $20USD. For $42 USD, you get 5 powders, 1 highlight, and a mascara and liner. These blushes and bronzer are all super pigmented, meaning you won’t be hitting pan on any of them any time soon. Watt’s Up is a popular highlighter from benefit and it’s champagne sheen makes it suitable for all skintones and for plenty of looks. Aren’t the They’re Real Liner and Mascara a bit iffy? That’s up to you, I personally like the they’re real liner, but if you’re interested in trying them without paying for the full-sized versions, this set is a great way to test them, since if you happened to not like them, you have all of the powders in the palette to tickle your fancy.
Ciaté‘s color-filled set contains 24 bottles and a nail file. The bottles (23 minis, 1 regular sized) range from neutrals to brights, from solid colors to duochrome to glitter and 3 nail treatments: Nail Gym Nail Strengthener Treatment, Bloom Boost Nail Illuminator Treatment, Knight in Shining Armour Overnight Nail Mask Treatment. That’s less than $2.50 USD per polish, which is almsot 1/4 the regular price for a full-sized bottle ($8). Given Ciaté‘s opaque and long-lasting formula, you won’t have to use up a ton of polish in one session. This is also a perfect advent calendar idea!
Clinique is a great brand for both makeup and skincare that don’t break the bank, and this cute Advent calendar-like giftset offers deluxe samples of some of their most-loved products. This set is great for a parent or even a teenager just getting into makeup and skincare. At only $39.50 USD, this set is a great way to introduce the brand to someone, or to someone who is a beauty junkie that likes to test out tonnes of products but doesn’t want to have to use up a full-sized product (something I can relate to). The packaging for this is nothing extrodinary, but it would even make a great 10-day advent calendar present!
Josie Maran is most famous for her argan oil products, and with this colorful little set, you can try out deluxe-samples of 6 of the best from her range. This set insludes a gel blush (which I happen to own the deluxe-sample size of and it will last you ages), mascara, illuminating concealer, watercolor eyeshadow, and a vial of her famous multi-purpose 100% Pure Argan oil. This set retails now at $34 USD, which means you’re paying just over $5 for each deluxe sample, and given how a little goes a loooong way with Argan oil, these deluxe samples will get you lots of product.
Hopefully this list gave you a good idea of the best holiday exclusives available at Sephora this year! Let me know which one you’re going to pick up and for whom! I know my mom would love the Clinique Holiday Helpers.
