Empties #2

I’m back today with another round of empty products, and there’s even more piling up in my back cupboard as we speak. While I don’t exactly have the money to run out and make tonnes of re-purchases, or even just new purchases, there’s something satisfying about finishing up a product. With the gift-giving season coming up, cleaning out your makeup stash, closet, and belongings in general is not only great therapy for the soul, but makes way for any up-coming new additions.

L’Oreal Fresh Dust Techni Art Dry Shampoo

I hate to start this list off as a Debbie Downer but this product was an absolute flop for me. I found it to be way to expensive (80NOK, and that was on sale, too!) and it had such little affect on the condition of my hair and hardly emitted any product at all before it was empty! It didn’t refresh my hair at all, and while I don’t like a super Cruella DeVille white-cast on my hair, it at least shows something came out, but not with this. I love a lot of L’Oreal’s other hair products, so I was incredibly disappointed with this. I will most certainly not be repurchasing this.

CVS Nourishing Polish Remover

I have had this bottle for around a year and I have really enjoyed using it. I feel it removes glitter polish pretty nicely, and contains plenty of Vitamin E which softens your cuticles to keep you nails looking naturally healthy, and have honestly noticed a difference in how dry my cuticles and nails are now that I’m not using it. While I want to give some other polish-removers a try, I would definitely repurchase this, especially since you get so much product for such a low price. Go CVS!

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

I purchased this back in April and initially used it after I had already used a cleanser, just to remove anything I may have missed. Now I  use it to remove my face makeup (sans eyes), and then cleanse. This is the first micellar water I have ever tried and I feel it has changed the makeup-removing game for me. This one from Garnier is great if you have sensitive skin since it doesn’t contain any perfumes, and takes off makeup really well. I don’t use it for water-proof mascara though, as I have found it doesn’t work tremendously well with it. I would definitely repurchase this, and already am halfway through my second bottle.

Equate Beauty Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I was initially super disappointed in this product, but now that I don’t have it anymore I miss it (only because my current one is step down). However, I won’t necessarily sing its praises. For one, it does have a bit of oil-residue left over, but not nearly as much as for example the Boots one. While it does remove waterproof mascara almost as well as my Mary Kay, it is no where near as gentle, and can burn a bit if it gets in your eye. It is supposedly comparable to the  Neutrogena one, but I can’t make the comparison myself. I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing this.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash

I first heard about Simple from Zoella when she collaborated with them. While not all of their products are sold in Norway, I picked this up last year in the States, and have been super satisfied with it ever since. It really does cleanse my skin and hydrates it (don’t skip moisturizer, though!) whereas other cleansing products I’ve tried will dry my skin out if I wait so much as a minute before applying moisturizer. I bought a back-up this summer and am already onto using that. While it doesn’t have any perfumes in it (perfect for you with sensitive skin!) it has a subtle spa-like plant smell, which I don’t mind at all, and find the product to be very cooling and refreshing.

Tarte Maracuja Oil

I recieved a deluxe sample of this in a small set from Tarte last Christmas, and I loved this product. It lasted me for a long time, and always left my skin feeling super plump and soft. This was the first oil moisturizer I have ever tried and I can’t wait try more. I was so sad when I finished this product, and have considered purchasing the full-sized oil at some point. I also went a bit more in-depth on this product here.

Tarte Maracuja C Brightener Eye Treatment

The unfortunate mistake I made with this product was using it every day, and since it was a deluxe sample size, this meant I used a tiny amount, and probably not enough to ever get proper results. However, I was eager to finish this up at the same time as my Maracuja Oil and then I used more, and saw my under-eyes were brighter and less dark and vein-y, which I can definitely appreciate. I want to repurchase the full-sized cream  because I found it soothing and quite cooling on my eyes, and want to use the proper amount this time to get more accurate results.

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer

I finished up my last tube of this stuff and I was pretty stumped when I realized this was the last tube I had. I already have done a more thorough review of this in my previous empties as well as in another blog post which you can read here, so I won’t droll on about it. I would definitely re-purchase this again.

Heroine Make Volume and Curl Mascara Super Waterproof

I already did an entire blogpost about how great this mascara is and how regretful I was that I had stashed it away in my collection and only rediscovered it so close to its expiration date. I will definitely be repurchasing this the next time I am in Japan, as well as picking up some other mascaras from Heroine Make.

Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner

I was really intrigued by this product when Ana from RavishingRoses raved about it and picked up the deluxe sample size of it on my last trip to Sephora this summer. I have had a love-hate relationship with it, which is best explained in a more in-depth review, but I think the idea of the product is really smart and when it worked out for me, it worked out reallyyyyy splendidly and my flick was sharp enough to cut glass, but sometimes there would be dried up product from the previous use poking up that became clumpy and ultimately was a waste of product. I do want to repurchase it because I want to try some of the other colors, but I also think this is a smart method of travel-makeup if you prefer gel to liquid eyeliner.

Those are all the empty products I have for this time around, folks! What’s the latest product you finished up?
