A while back I had mentioned that I was expecting some items to arrive in the mail that I had ordered as a birthday gift to myself and had wanted to include them in a haul. After many months of waiting to get my hands on them, as well as a few other items I’ve picked up pre-Christmas, here is my US beauty haul:
Tarte Tartelette Palette
I haven’t had the chance to swatch all the shades yet, but as of right now I am really digging this palette. It has a beautiful range of warm neutrals that suit my eyes and skin tone, and the pigmentation is very impressive. I did experience a bit of fallout though, but so far I am really glad I purchased this palette. I know it is now out of stock online at Sephora (*sad face*), but if you would like a full review of this palette I would be more than happy to do one.
Makeup Forever Invisible Coverage Ultra HD Foundation
I was super psyched to finally try something from MUFE but so far I’m glad I only got a deluxe sample because I am not impressed thus far. I have a first impressions in the process so be on the lookout for that.
Revlon Scented Nailpolish in Pink Pineapple
The concept of scented nailpolishes intrigued me, and since the bottle looks so elegant and fancy, I thought I’d choose an elegant color. I don’t know how scented or opaque the formula is since I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll be sure to report back if I liked it.
L’Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara
I have purchased this mascara twice in the past, but this time around I was a tad underwhelmed- maybe it’s because my expectations based on my previous experience was too high, or maybe the formula has changed. perhaps it’s just that my taste in mascara has changed. I’ll give it a proper review on here at some point.
Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer
Nothing to report on as of yet.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black
Not only did I almost finish up my sample spray from this summer already, but this perfume was featured on My Christmas Wishlist this year! I adore it. This is perfect for my handbag for touch-ups throughout the day.
Chloe Love Story
If you’ve seen my If I Had All The Money in The World list, you’ll have seen this beaut. It smells super feminine and light and flirty in a romantic way. not to mention the packaging is modeled off of a padlock- gorgeous!
Covergirl Star Wars lipstick in 050
I was suckered into this deep plum color, and the swatch left me with high expectations in term of smooth application and pigmentation, but I must say that I was disappointed with its application onto my lips. It was awfully patchy and it took a good effort to get the color even… It’s a good thing I’ll be keeping this one around because of my love for The Force Awakens.
Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer
MAC eyeshadows in Phloof! and Blanc Type
I bought these two as eyeshadow singles since I adore my S4 and M4 shades from my Smashbox Full Exposure Palette. However, I don’t always like to travel with the entire palette soley to use to two shades. Phloof! (frost) and Blanc Type (matte) are not exact duplicates of S4 and M4, but they’re pigmented and refillable. So far, I would say they have been a worthwhile investment.
Rimmel Exaggerate Lipliner in East End Snob
I have been on the hunt for this one for soooo long, and it is definitely a Blogger-Made-Me-Buy-It product, courtesy of Amelia Liana‘s influence. However, first time out wearing it, I got a compliment on it from the girl at the MAC counter where I purchased Phloof! and Blanc Type. Super smooth and quite long-lasting. East End Snob is all you’ve heard about and more.
Rimmel Brow Defining Pencil
Nothing to report on as of yet.
NYX Butter Glosses in Creme Breule, Angel Food Cake, and Ginger Snap
These are hands-down the BEST lip product I’ve ever used, at least in terms of lipgloss. Angel Food Cake is the ultimate MLBB shade, and the best part is that it literally feels like nothing is on my lips. It is so miraculously moisturizing. My lips didn’t flake in the slightest. I would even wear this on a flight because of how mositurizing it is. This set of three was only $10 from Urban Outfitters, and if you’re interested in trying out some products from NYX or aren’t a fan of glosses because they’re drying- these Lip Butters are the answer to your prayers. I know they were for mine. They do multiple sets in different colors as well! I want to do a review on these glosses at some point, but perhaps after I’ve acquired some more shades.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer
This is a repurchase since I adore this primer. I have a full review on it here.
Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop
I couldn’t resist adding this one in my Sephora basket back in August as a little birthday gift to myself. Jaclyn Hill really is a mastermind. This highlight is dramatic, mind you, but if you’re like me a love the glow, Champagne Pop is for you.
Covergirl Star Wars Lash Blast mascara (waterproof)
Not gonna lie, I was suckered into this one because of the Star Wars packaging. Mine has the slogan “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” Which I truly emphasize with, Master Yoda. But to my delight, I ended up LOVING this mascara. It provides the right amount of drama and length. This mascara is a permanent item in Covergirl‘s range so I would love to do a review on this. This is for certain a favorite this month.
ORLY Flash Dry Quick Dry Drops
I bought these thinking they were a top coat, and while they’re not, they do seem to do pretty great job at drying my polish quickly. Would you guys be interested in seeing a nail care routine?
L’Oreal Brow Plumper brow gel
Nothing to report on as of yet.
Essie Winter 2015 Collection polishes in Altitude Attitude and Haute Tub
I have been drooling over this collection since the press release and opted for these two gorgeous shades when I was given the chance. Altitude Attitude is a pretty pinky- toned red which is not like any other reds I have in my collection (I have at least 3 other reds). Haute Tub is very unique to me, as it is black with a hint of pink sparkle. Perfect for those who want to add an edge to their girly glam. I would love to get the rest of the collection as the others are also to-die-for.
Maybelline Leather Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige
My mom bought MAC‘s Paint Pot in Painterly, and I didn’t exactly have the cash to drop on that one atm, so when I found this shade I snatched it (and paid for it- don’t worry!). I was reminded how creamy the Color Tattoos are (my others are over a year old- so perhaps a little dried). This is the perfect all-over-the-lid-shade for me, even if it is a bit darker. I find it makes for a great eye base and quick natural eye look that compliment red lips.
That’s all for my makeup haul from the States. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the hair-care and skincare haul coming later this week. Merry Christmas to all of my lovely followers. I have only posted like three times in the month of December and for that I apologize, but I have been sick and traveling, not to mention spending time with family and friends in the US. If you would like to see a What I Got For Christmas post, don’t be afraid to ask, because I will only post on if it is requested. I hope you all continue to have a lovely holiday season ❤ I am so grateful for each and every one of you- followers, readers, likers- you have helped make my 2015 something special, and I can’t wait to show you more content on this blog of mine.
