Blush Week: 5 Complexion-Refreshing Blushes

Until about a year ago, I was a person who could get out of bed with no problem, no matter how little sleep I had gotten. Nowadays, in order to look more awake I need some serious help from skincare, a superb mascara, and a brilliant, refreshing blush. I’ve become a huge fan of blush over the last year or so, and I choose many of them based off their ability to make me look refreshed and ready to take on the world (and Beverly Hills). So in the third installment of Blush Week, here are five of my go-to complexion-refreshing blushes.

awakening blushes

Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek Flower Harmony in Mandarin Mix

This one is perhaps my favorite of the five, especially in terms of color. I picked up this blush on a whim in Hong Kong last summer when it’s adorable packaging and intriguing interior drew me to it. Super pigmented and super illuminating, Mandarin Mix is a gorgeous peachy-orange blush that makes your skin radiate in summer. The formula is super long-lasting and blendable, and a little goes such a long way. The orange-peach pigment in the center provides the color, and as the swirls work their way out, you have the golden peach highlight tones that give it that extra touch of luminosity, perfect work rejuvenating your skin after.

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink

Seductive Pink is the latest addition to my blush family but it is nowhere near shy of beautiful. Max Factor‘s Creme Puff Blushes are said to be dupes for the coveted Hourglass Ambient Lighting blushes with their marbled colors and the soft, fine glow they bring to your cheekbones. Seductive Pink is super flattering mauve-peach especially on fair to medium skin tones.

Dior Healthy Glow Blush

One of the main reasons this glowing-gemstone of a blush made its way into my Top Blushes for Spring post was it’s ability to brighten my complexion immediately. I tend to get allergies in the spring time, so I tend to sound and look like I have a cold for most of the season. This is one of those blushes that helps reduce that appearance instantly. Don’t be intimidated by the almost fluorescent shade in the pan either! The unique thing about Healthy Glow is that the formula reacts to your skin’s pH levels, and changes color based on those- so it customizes a healthy, lifting color to suit your complexion!

NYX Cream Blush in Boho Chic

Cream blushes are something that always look far more natural on the skin, and Boho Chic is no exception. I picked this up after hearing Lucy and Lydia Connell talking about how this beauty reminded them of the famous Estée Lauder blush in Tease. While I sadly have never tried Tease, I feel Boho Chic really does brighten my cheeks with it’s sheen and thin, buildable formula.

Susie NY Blush On in 02 Pink

The beautiful ombré appearance of this blush was what prompted me to buy it, and the formula is so buttery smooth and pigmented, and the ombré fashion makes it perfect for helping your skin look daintily flushed. This blush is so luminous, but interestingly enough there are no specks of glitter in the blush which makes it perfect for those of you who prefer not to have glitter in them.
